We don’t want to lose our focus in these busy times as new issues like immagration come up. There will be long delays and non-answers to greet our concerns. This will be magnified in the summer as folks seek cooler weather outside Tucson.

Let's keep our eye on the ball. Don't forget, the F-35 could come to Tucson. What can you do...

1.) M & C Council Agenda. Get the Mayor and City Council to put the F-35 on their agenda and begin to do their due diligence – formal City request for fly-overs, staff research into noise impacts, staff research into effect on property values, identify who will be affected, etc. Send them E-mails and letters. 2.) F-35 EIS. Track the study's progress and determine what we need to do to get ready to respond to the draft EIS.

3.) Wyle Operation Snowbird Study. Where are we on this study initiated in November 2009? There never was an EIS done to bring in these new, louder, less safe aircraft that began their overflights of the City prior to 2000. Citizens at the Ward 6 meeting had concerns about how the study was to be conducted and how independent it would be. The draft is now past due and the DM’s presentation of the draft to the MCRC originally scheduled for May 3 has been postponed to allow “adequate AF coordination” of the draft. Ask your MCRC rep to find out what's up. If you don't have a MCRC rep, send us an E-mail at info@tucsonforward.com and we will forward it.
